Starting to use the jug for the first time
If you have received your Alkanatur Drops Jug, when you open it you will see that the box contains the jug, the BPA free bottle, instruction manual and the blackboard. The filter, reagent and strips are located inside the jar. Remove the lid and remove all the accessories inside.
Once we have all our components separated, we can begin to prepare their start-up. It is recommended to wash the carafe before starting to use it.
Wash the jug with soapy water and a soft sponge . We recommend not using a scouring pad or rough material to avoid scratching the plastic.
All the information on how to start using the jug is explained in the instruction manual that we send with the product.
Filter Activation
Once we have the jug washed, we will proceed to activate the filter, before assembling the jug parts.
To activate the filter , we will follow the following steps:
1. Fill the pitcher halfway with water and submerge the filter with the small outlet hole facing up until it releases any air it may contain.
If you do not want to be holding the filter with your hand, you can submerge it and place the tank on top, to prevent the filter from floating, for 20 minutes.
2. Place the filter in the tank, with it resting on a stable surface. Do not place the green tank in the transparent part of the jug.
3. Put the tank under the faucet of your sink and fill it completely with water (you can gently tap the part where the filter is with your hand to speed up the activation process). Let the water in the tank filter and it is emptied. Refill it two more times and allow that water to percolate.*
*You can use that water to water the plants. We recommend drinking after the 4th filtering for flavor reasons.

Jug assembly
Once we have the filter activated we can proceed to assemble our jug.
It is recommended to place the tank on a stable surface, and insert the filter in it, with the grill facing up and the small hole facing down. Insert the filter into the tank and press so that it fits until the end of where the hole ends, thus leaving the tank and filter at the same height.
We introduce the tank with the filter in the jug and place the complete cover from back to front. To fit the cover correctly and avoid falls, we give it a gentle tap on the front.

Water consumption times
The water can be consumed at the moment of being filtered.
We recommend consuming it as freshly filtered as possible (greater antioxidant power).
We recommend changing the water in the jug every 24 hours at room temperature, and within a maximum of 48 hours if it is in the fridge.
Wash the jug
A weekly cleaning is essential to keep your Alkanatur Drops Jug in good condition.
Steps to follow:
1. Disassemble the jug.
2. Remove the filter from the tank. The filter should only be rinsed with water, soap or any other cleaning product should never be used on it, since it can alter the proper functioning of the product.
3. Soap the parts of the jug, tank and entire lid with the sponge (do not use the rough part of the scourer to avoid scratching your jug).
4. Rinse all parts well.
5. Allow to air dry or dry with a cloth delicately.
We recommend washing the jug by hand for better maintenance . In case of putting it in the dishwasher, it is recommended to use low temperatures.
In hard water areas, it is recommended to clean with warm water and vinegar to keep the material of the product in good condition. After removing the filter from the carafe reservoir, fill the transparent part of the carafe with equal parts warm water and vinegar. Leave to soften for a couple of hours or overnight and the next day rinse with soap and water, as specified in point 3.
