I was born in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), I am a Janissary, of a Dominican father and a Spanish mother. I grew up in Medina del Campo (Valladolid), and despite the Castilian environment that always surrounded me, I trained as a flamenco dancer , culminating my career at the María de Ávila Royal Conservatory of Dance in Madrid.
Since I was a child I pursued beauty and art in all its fields and for this reason I also developed my skills in drawing and painting, and I studied music, managing to finish my piano degree. Other passions that I currently enjoy are fashion and photography, doing advertising work, fashion shows, photo shoots and even some roles in short films.
Since the beginning of this year 2016 I dedicate all my efforts to recover my health . And since everything happens for a reason, life led me to professionalize my knowledge in health from my experience and combining it with my favorite topics of beauty and life, I end the year creating a blog where I can share it with everyone.
1._Claudine, your professional career in the world of dance and dancing seems fantastic to us. Since when did you become fond of these arts?
At the age of 8 I began to study music theory and piano. Music and rhythm in general fascinated me. My interest in dance came from my mother's hand. When I was about 12 or 13 years old, she taught sevillanas in Medina del Campo, from there a group was formed that we performed at the regional level.
I wanted to continue training professionally, so I continued combining my music studies with classical ballet, Spanish dance and flamenco in Valladolid and later in Madrid where I studied a higher degree in dance specializing in flamenco pedagogy.
2._At the crest of the wave of your career, with enormous projection and so many years of effort, you are diagnosed with your autoimmune disease... and you have to leave everything behind. How do you take on news of this magnitude?
I still have to breathe to be able to answer, and I don't think that by writing it I can translate what it meant. The time that can do everything and that heals, helps you make decisions and mature them.
And also, in my case, since it all started little by little, since January I started to feel bad and have contractures, joint pain, intestinal discomfort, etc., and everything more or less fell into place due to my stressful life as a dancer, mother and super woman, I thought it would be a matter of a couple of months at most.
At the end of January I stop working and from there my desperate path of medical consultations begins, until in April/May I realize that the best thing to do is to abandon everything to only worry about getting cured. On June 30, at the end of the year festival of my dance academy, I say goodbye, after 20 years of professional career .
Since then my life revolves around health and I have learned to “stop” and take advantage of, grow and learn from what I am experiencing, from a positive and always optimistic attitude.
3._Not only do you overcome this important bump in your life, but you come out renewed, making a huge change at a vital level, you decide to create your page on Facebook Beauty, health and life, facing up to the problem and being a reference for many people who are going through a situation similar to yours...
In my house we have a great reference that is my sister Sandra , a year older than me, who overcame two leukemias and now from her own foundation (Sandra Ibarra Solidarity Foundation against cancer) is dedicated to working joining efforts against cancer.
With her and thanks to the education my mother gave us, I learned to come out stronger in the face of adversity and turn my experiences into help, hope and happiness for others. Because shared experiences is how they make sense. Social networks help a lot in this sense and I thought it was time to make visible and provide help by sharing my experiences, and of course, at the same time, they allow me to continue growing.
It often happens that others give you back much more than what you give. I am meeting wonderful people in my life. I also launch a blog : www.bellezasaludyvida.com with which I hope to give and receive a lot of happiness.
4._How is your day to day, what dietary and life changes have you carried out?
The change has been radical . As a dancer, due to the demands of the discipline itself, I always liked to take care of myself and have healthy habits. But on the other hand, taking advantage of my "good nature" and little tendency to gain weight, sweets, processed foods, flours and fats were not lacking in my diet because I mistakenly thought that I could afford it.
Since July and as a result of reading a super interesting book written by cardiologist William Davis: “Wheat free, thanks” and informing myself and watching a lot of documentaries about food, I decided to adopt a change that I will maintain throughout my life, which is to eliminate wheat, refined sugars, milk from my diet (I haven't had it for years) and limit meat consumption .
The food and pharmaceutical industry are responsible for and interested in us consuming more and keeping us sick. And for this they do not worry about our health , but they do care about us being addicted to sugar and wheat (which together with milk I call the three white poisons) to bill more.
Currently, in my case, because I have to try to detoxify my body, I follow a diet that is as alkaline as possible. Vegetables are my first course, my second and my dessert. Fruits in moderation, because I have to be careful with sugar. Nuts at all hours. Legumes once a week. And seeds and the so-called super foods (extracted from plants) accompany all my meals and if we consumed them more and benefited from all their nutrients, many health problems could be avoided.
This is my best medicine, food that our mother nature gives us .
5._Water is an important factor for you, we are made up of 70% water. What made you decide on ionized alkaline water and on Alkanatur in particular?
Dr. Irina Matveikova , an endocrinologist who started treating me this summer, explained to me that I had to detoxify myself by creating an alkaline environment in my body in which the intestinal bacteria that caused me pain did not survive.
I immediately incorporated a diet based on vegetables into my daily routines , but I did not give much importance to consuming alkaline water until a meeting I had with Jesús Llanos , a physiotherapist who impressed me with his knowledge regarding the energy field and who stressed to me how important it was in my case to consume water that helps me generate and maintain the proper pH.
He told me about Alkanatur, emphasizing that it was not just a filtered water but that it alkalinizes and ionizes and achieves great health benefits. The next day I placed my order. I have not used tap water again and I recommend the Alkanatur jug to everyone for its quality, comfort and because my family and I have noticed notable changes in our health. This has been my last change in my habits and I am convinced that I made a great investment for my health and that of my family.
Alkanatur
From the writing of Alkanatur we want to thank Claudine for the interest and her disinterested collaboration.
